Replica Race Car’s Hard Drive History
Hard drives are not just for computers anymore… but can you build a race car out of them?
The answer is “yes” if you ask Rob Ryan, a tech worker at WD (Western Digital) who constructed a model of an F1 racer out of parts from 250 WD hard drives.
Ryan and his family spent 400 hours assembling the sleek four-wheeler. The four rubber tires are the only parts of the racer that did not come from a WD hard drive. Everything else is “stock” from a variety of WD drives.
